The Bridge Plan
The Bridge Plan is a temporary major medical insurance plan intended for use by seniors awaiting acceptance in the U.S. Medicare System. Certain U.S. senior citizens who may not yet be covered under both parts A and B as well as foreign national’s seniors who only become eligible to participate in U.S. Medicare after five years as legal U.S. residents, may be considered for coverage. It’s during these waiting periods that The Bridge Plan is of extreme value.

Medicare Restriction #1:
Medicare will accept senior citizens who for at least 5 years has been a permanent resident in the U. S. This does not call for citizenship or any contributions into Social Security before to eligibility. However, the applicant will have to purchase Part A and Part B. Part A and Part B premiums may vary.
Solution: The Bridge Plan is offered to senior citizens who have become permanent residents of the U. S. and who are inside the 5 year waiting period for Medicare eligibility.
Medicare Restriction #2:
Some senior citizens may be eligible for Medicare because of their age and/or other qualifications, but did not sign up for Medicare benefits. Enrollment is not automatic. Social Security does not notify people that it’s time to enroll. Some people miss their enrollment period they must wait to enroll at a later date. In some cases the next opportunity can be as much as 18 months later!
Solution: The Bridge Plan will cover senior citizens with benefits similar to Medicare on a temporary basis until the next enrollment chance.
Medicare Restriction #3:
For a variety of reasons, some people have only Part A or only Part B. They may be able to get the additional part from Medicare, except at a later date.
Solution: The Bridge Plan may be sold with both Part A and Part B, just Part A, or just Part B.
